Singing at school...

I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer in Norah's classroom last week on the day that she was "Star of the Day". While there the kids practiced their Christmas song. Here it is! Enjoy!

Fun times with old friends...

This week Norah and I got together with my friend Julie and her daughter Emily. Julie and I realized the other day that we've been friends for 25 years. We have shared so many great times together and are thankful that we both have little girls that really enjoy each other's company as well. It's so nice to sit back and watch them grow up together and to start making memories of their own.

As Julie and I were enjoying some yummy eggnog, we couldn't help but laugh as we heard the girls playing together in another room and hear them whisper and giggling. It was such a fun afternoon. The girls pretended the sled was a school bus, we made chocolate chip cookies and pizzas, the girls made a fort in the living room for them and for us and we finished off our afternoon making paper snowflakes.

Here are some great shots of them playing. Our favorite is of them camping out on the living room floor!

Here's to making great memories with great friends! XOXO

Norah, the Diva

Norah really enjoys getting dressed up, especially when she has a friend over. Yesterday her friend Sophie came over and the girls had a great time playing. As I was sitting at the table making up the grocery list, I heard them come down the stairs giggling and whispering. And when I turned around, this is what I saw. They were cracking themselves up that I had to run to get the camera and capture the moment.

Happy 5th Birthday, Norah!

It's hard for us to believe that 5 years ago today Norah Cady was born!

We welcomed Norah into our family at 6:08am on Nov. 29, 2004. She weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 21 1/2 inches long!

Today we thank God for blessing us with our precious little girl! Happy Birthday Norah! We love you BIG! XOXO ~Mommy & Daddy

Norah was invited to her classmate Carly's 5th birthday party which ended up being a Halloween birthday party. It was a blast and we really enjoyed getting all dressed up to attend. Clearly Mommy didn't have to go far to get dolled up as a witch, but Norah was the cutest bat ever! Next week we'll be Trick-Or-Treating and will hopefully post a family picture of all of us dressed up so stay tuned!

Cotton Candy @ the Oyster Festival in Welfleet

We went down to the cape last weekend for the Oyster Festival in Welfleet. The festival was a lot of fun - great food and music, but the kids really loved the jumpy houses and especially getting their very own cotton candy!

Friends!

Norah is so blessed to have great friends. Here are some pictures of her with her friends at the field trip to Cider Hill Farm: Norah & Emily, group hug and Emily, Jack and Norah riding the bus back to the school.

October 2009 Field Trip to Cider Hill Farm

Since being on Facebook it's been several months, okay 9 months, since we've posted anything to our family blog. Oops!

Norah has started her 2nd year of Preschool at Amesbury Elementary. She's in the afternoon program and is really enjoying it. She loves her teachers and her classmates.

In early October they went on a field trip to our local farm, Cider Hill Farm. They were able to go through a hay maze, pick apples and go on a tractor ride to the top of the orchard. One would think the tractor ride was the hit of the day, but the tractor was nothing compared to the school bus!

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...

Who's the prettiest little girl of them all?  Norah Cady Ryan, of course!

Gramma Clow gave Norah this adorable purple dress up outfit for Christmas and Norah is having fun dressing up and playing 'Princess'.  She even took out all of her play shoes, tried them all on and then lined them all up.  We emailed that picture to Daddy and his reply was..."I'm in BIG trouble...".  Yes, Daddy...yes, you are!

Snow Castles...

Happy Wednesday everyone!  We awoke this morning and found out that school was cancelled and looked out the window and saw 3 inches of perfect wet snow.  After breakfast we got bundled up and went outside.  Mommy tried to make a snowman, but the snow was too wet and heavy and it kept breaking.  So, instead we made snow castles using our beach toys.  And we decorated them with spray bottles filled with colored water.  Norah had so much fun decorating the castles.  She even discovered that snow makes a perfect canvas.  We also did a bit of sledding down our little hill in the backyard.  We can't wait to go outside again!  Happy Snow Day everyone!  Love and miss you all!  xoxoxo
